FAQ’s

Q: ‘Is Massage Therapy covered by my insurance?
A: Yes, if you have coverage with an insurance company, you pay Zone One Wellness directly and we issue a receipt that you submit either online or in the mail to re-claim what your covered for.

Q: What can I expect when having a Therapeutic Massage.
A: On your initial visit after you have completed a confidential and private consultation form we go over it to ensure there are no contraindications for massage and check any medical conditions or medications you are on, which may affect the pressure or time for your Therapeutic Massage.

You are instructed to lay comfortably between the sheets on the massage table wearing what you feel comfortable in and are fully covered during the massage exposing only the areas we are working on. Private areas of the body are never exposed.

Q: Is Therapeutic Massage Painful?
A: Sometimes Therapeutic massage can be a little uncomfortable as we are realigning the muscle fibers, which may be tight or shortened, however, we always work within your comfort zone.

There is a difference between uncomfortable and painful, and we work to ensure it is not painful, but that it is effective treatment.

Q: How often should I get massage?
A: As a preventive measurement, it is suggested to get a massage at least once a month.

Should there be any specific medical conditions or injuries, whether that be pre/post surgery or specific event, then more frequent treatments are recommended, which will be reviewed upon consultation.

Q: How long will the effects of a massage last for?
A: Typically the effects of a Therapeutic Massage will last 3 to 4 days, however, it is the self care provided to you when you receive your massage that will make a bigger difference.
